Privacy policy for applicants

We are delighted that you are interested in us and that you are applying or have applied for a job at our company. Provided below is information on how we process your personal data in connection with your application.

Who is responsible for data processing?

You can find further information about our company, details of our authorised representatives and other ways of contacting us in our data privacy statement and imprint.

Which data concerning you do we process? And for what purposes?

We process the data that you have sent to us in connection with your application to check whether you are suitable for the job (or for any other vacancies within our company) and to carry out the application process.

What is the legal basis for this?

The primary legal basis for processing your personal data within the context of this application process is Section 26 of the version of the German Data Protection Act (Bundesdatenschutzgesetz, BDSG) that was in force as of 25 May 2018. In accordance with this, data processing is permitted if it is necessary in order to make decisions on whether to enter into an employment contract.

If the data is required in order to take any legal action once the application process is complete, it can be processed subject to the conditions laid down in Article 6 GDPR, particularly for the purposes of legitimate interests in accordance with point (f) of Article 6(1) GDPR. Our interest would then lie in the establishment or defence of claims.

Persons with authorised access

The management of the company, the manager of the requesting department and the HR department are given access to your application documents.

How long the data stored for?

If an application is rejected, the applicant’s data is erased after six months.

If you have given your consent for your personal data to be stored for longer, we will transfer your data to our applicant pool. The data there is erased after two years.

If you are offered a job during the application process, your data will be carried over from the applicant data system to our personnel information system.

To which recipients is the data transferred?

Once we receive your application, our HR department reviews your applicant data. Suitable applications are then forwarded internally to the manager of the department with the relevant job vacancy. The next steps are then arranged. In principle, the only people within our company who have access to your data are those who need it in order to carry out our application process properly.

Where is the data processed?

The data is processed exclusively in data centers in the Federal Republic of Germany.

You have the following rights against us in respect of the personal data concerning you: the right of access to the data collected, to right to obtain rectification or erasure, the right to restriction of processing, and the right to object to the processing.
